Hi everyone.....having spent the last couple of months or so looking for a new vocal mic for my meager home studio, I recently purchased an ADK Hamburg Edition and frankly, I'm pretty stoked about it. Compared to the other mics I auditioned, I'd have to say that the Hamburg might very well be the holy grail of sub-$500 LDCs.

I haven't seen much posted about it on this BB....has anyone else here checked it out?

Did you try the search feature? This mic has been discussed quite a bit in recent months, and is well liked.

In fact, scroll down to the bottom of this page for "Similar Threads."

I met the owner of ADK at last years summer NAMM(He was actually manning his own booth). I spent a little time talking to him about his mics.He gave me a quick run down of his products. He said the Hamburg was a little more transparent than the Vienna. So at the end of the show, on his suggestion,I bought a Hamburg off of him (Hey, its NAMM, Im not leaving empty handed). I wanted the A51 CE, but funds were tight.
So far it has been a very good mic. Ive used it on a few projects(mostly vox and acoustic guitar) and,so far, have been very pleased with it. I can say,to me, its pretty natural sounding( that could be good or bad, depending on whats put through it) compared to some of my other LDC. You probably couldnt go wrong with the Vienna either. For the price, I would recommend them all day long.

I think it sounds great! Mic shines too. Might want to move the guitar mic away from the sound hole a bit, might not. NIce voice

Do they make a cheeseburg?

I'm hungry. All this talk of hamburgers and vienna sausages is making my stomach growl.

I've used mine on acoustic guitar as well...goes a long way toward adding a little "oomph" to my overly zingy Taylor 412.
