I need to do some narrating on some video footage and I am using Soundforge 6. My problem is that I am only able to record my voice in the left channel, and I need it in stereo. My question is. is my problem with Soundforge, my mic, sound card or what. I am just getting into this audio recording stuff and could use any help that I can get.
thanks,

thanks for the response, however this does not seem to fix my problem. I have a clip open and I highlight the area that I want to record to. I select the record button and the record window opens up. When I talk into the mic it shows only on the left channel and after I record my voice, and play back the clip it is only in the left channel. (the original sound from clip is in stereo.)
Hope this makes sense.

If Sound Forge works anything like Vegas, you can pan the event (track) 50% to the right (although the pan button will look like it's panned WAY right) and it will give you equal levels in both channels (albeit mono).

Not sure if this will work for you or not-I haven't moved the stuff I'm recording in Vegas to Sound Forge quite yet-I'm still tracking, and I'm not quite ready to edit or master yet...

unless you're recording with a stereo mic (or 2 at the same time)....the recording WILL be mono...

you can cut&paste the single channel to a second channel if you really need stereo....
