I just recorded a live CD at a friends studio using ADAT. However, during mixdown, we set up a mix from the ADATS to the studio board and out to the computer in
the studio to a two track mix and recorded it on WAVELAB. We then burnt a CD, and it would not play at the right speed! it was too fast ! but it played in wavelab just fine.

Sorry if this is a basic ADAT question, but this is my first adat experience.

thank you all,

Sounds like a difference in sampling rates. The ADATs are probably at 48KHz and the CD is at standard 44.1KHz. If you recorded at 48KHz on the ADATs and are making a digital transfer you'l have to do a sample rate conversion to 44.1KHz.

No prob

I take it you are going from ADAT to analoge console then to computer. If so then your samling rate in Wavelab is the prob. The rate on the ADAT is best kept at 48Khz so you get the highest rate when tracking. You can set up the new wave in Wavelab for 16bit 44.1Khz before mixdown or you can convert after the mixdown but prior to creating your cd program. I mixdown into Wavelab at 24bit 44.1Khz and let the burn software to the bit conversion.
