I know very little about adat. I do understand how the recording process works ( i have dowloaded and read the manual) but I am a little confused as to what you do with the recorded tape. How would I get my recording to a computer? Say I was using an XT20. Could some one be so kind as to give me a brief description of this
Thanks

You need a soundcard that either has enough analog inputs, or ADAT optical inputs to interface your ADAT and transfer sounds in to the computer.

True. You would need a card with ADAT optical inputs to make a digital transfer and some multitrack recording software to record said tracks into the computer. Your only other option would be an analog transfer. You'd need a sound card with at least 8 inputs with the same requirements as above.

I am using a laptop, so a PCI card is out of the question, what is a decent interface? I have looked at the M-audio 1814, but its like 600, and has features not needed.
