Any inputs on good active speakers for a small band small venues.

Mixer Yamaha 12/2 price range. Small 2 car garage type rooms.
Was thinking one speaker would work.

Have seen some $159, $199....no idea on quality or issues with these Active PA speakers.

thanks for any inputs!

The standard is JBL EON, and God, they don't come cheap, even used. For my money, this is the best bang-for-buck:

They're every bit as good as the EONS for less money

I have to admit, I'm skeptical of the reliability of the really cheap units out there, but if the budget is real tight, there are alternatives, such as:

Here's a B-stock item that wouldn't be a bad compromise:

I'm dead serious about the Carvins. Definitely give them a look.

Good luck-Richie

Richard has provided some reasonable possibilities.

You might like to consider EV active speakers (any!) . . . which I prefer to Eons . . . but they are markedly more expensive than those listed.

I also have a fondness for Yamaha MSR 400 and DB Technology Opera 405 active speakers, both similarly priced. They are about half the price of EV SXA+ 100s, but do a pretty good job.
