OK, Peritus, i don`t understand what u mean, can u try again plz?

so is foam useless? what should i do with the foam? where should i use what? can u guys be more specific? like "basstrap here and there, one panel between x and y..." what would u suggest?

and one last time.. what is a basstrap?? those triangled foam that goes in corners? or just like the panels but for corners?

Umm... I wasn't reflecting on the foam or acoustic treatment in any way. I was merely imagining what I would do in this case. See the image I attached to my post above? That setup makes more sense to me because:

A) It's more symmetrical

B) The monitor speakers are shooting down the length of the room

C) Your wife is more likely to let you put up heavy curtains (to counter any early reflections) on the bottom right window than she would be on the windows in the top corner (at least I would imagine so)...

D) Your wife if more likely to allow you to apply accoustic treatment to the back of the door (aka hidden most of the time) (more early reflection combat) than she would be to allow acoustic treatment in the top left of the room (aka visible all the time)... Then again, is there even a door on the entrance?

E) Having the sofa's back to your back (at mixing position) would provide a little isolation (better than none when it's way across the room)....I think I might be wrong with this point though... The couch may be more effective for absorbtion against a wall or in a corner...

Am I missing something major here by saying all this (with the exception of the problems I listed above)????
