Haven't read all the other comments, but I can tell you that just the fact that you wrote this for your Dad and played it for him is pretty damn great!

Very nice tune. Has a real mellow sound to it and I love the changes in there. Don't have any mix advice.

Just very cool! Your Dad is probably real proud! :D

I guess there's enough cushion here of praise to comment that I din't like this one that much, although I'm a big fan of Samicide's other stuff. To me the ebow was a major saving grace, and it's merely a preferential statement because when it comes right down to it this kind of music is beyond me. To me this sounded too much like Yanni or John Tesh or something. I see I'm in the minority here so whatever. Just my two cents. Recording quality sounded great though.
 
Never mind, I like it now.:rolleyes: I listened a few more times and it' sset in a little more. Still laittle John Teshy but in a good way.:eek:

This is gorgeous!!! Man, I wish I could do stuff like this!!!

The e-bow is a really cool effect, as are the harp (celtic?) and the flute. Piano sounds great. Love the melodic ideas and the structure. Very very tasty.

Guitar sound works for the strumming, but sounds a little dull on the fingerpick parts. And there are spots where the orchestra sounds a little too inorganic. But those are trifles.

This goes straight into my keepers folder. Excellent, excellent piece. Dad's gotta be thrilled - I didn't write MY dad a song 'til after he died...:(
