Hi All,
apologies for the rather naive question that unfortunately hasn't been answered with a Google search.
Setup:
Shure SM57 feeding into a Line6 UX2, Ableton live 8 on Windows 7/64 bit.
I am new to recording and over the last 6 months have experimented happily with my new setup and so far have been moderately satisfied with the results recording my electric bass guitar and e-guitar directly into Ableton via the UX2 (and some playing around with the amp emulations on pod farm). Even my Ukulele is being picked up correctly.
So far, so Dandy.
Now for my problem: For love or money I haven't been able to record a proper acoustic guitar track. Now what I want to record is no loud rhythmic strumming, but rather some gentle picking, but however I position the SM57, I just don't get satisfactory levels, and if I crank up the input gain it gets just very noisy.
Any ideas how to record that moody guitar track, dear professionals?
Much obliged,
FB
