If you remember, I got driven out of here when I first came on board. It's hard when you're dealing with people who don't know you or your background, and in a place where anybody with a keyboard is on "equal footing".

Some of it is pretty hard to take when somebody with 3 months of recording experience tells you, "Hey, my opinion is just as good as yours, and I have a right to say what I think". It makes some of us a little crazy when that happens. I know when that happens to you Weston, you probably start to think, "Why do I even bother?".

Stephen's visits to some of the boards is a flatout tragedy. He's one of the most briiliant, innovative microphone designers in the world. And he gets treated like dirt. Almost every microhone manufacturer in the world owes Stephen a huge debt (which they'll never admit in public) for his pioneering work in low mass diaphragm design.

But yeah, I guess you better put on your thick skin when you wander into some of these forums.

This rookie would humbly like to see the finals on this test. Went looking for specs on the U87 (based on the loose comparisons)and was stopped dead in my tracks by the price! If this C1 comes even close in quality of sound reproduction, its worth knowing about, right? Maybe I missed something. Perhaps Alan should let you offer your conclusions and make himself available for further comment in another fashion.

To be fair........
As I remember Bruce just droped by and left with out any problems.
SP for that matter seems to make it a habbit of getting jumped on. From what I understand it happend at a mailing list, it happened here and just lately at RO.

I dont miss him...I cant see myself getting to excited about the size of a dia. Where I come from if it sounds good it is good be it
a 1 inch a 1.5 inch a 1.23546928764 inch.............

I wonder if SP has every gotten excited about the music as much.
Or how he holds onto clients after meeting them.

If you want to know about my music and whom I played with, you can visit the mp3 link below...

As for clients, usually they are a lot nicer, even behind my back than your own commentary...

Well,
I would have said it to your face if you were a member here.
but you choose to leave slaming the door behind you.
(Although you have a point there.....).

I have no doubt that you have a very impressive and long list of clients, nor do I doubt that you are one of the leading experts in your field. I only question the attitude you express on the web to others.

I for one have had noticed that even though all these mic threads have been the most informitive ive ever read and am more likely to take advice from the experts here than anywhere else;

for some reason they always seem to get out of hand at the 4th page and become a shouting match.

I would hate to see an end to the review of the microphones mentioned here but wouldnt blame anyone if they just gave up on us.

I for one am guilty of some and will offer my apologies right now.

Harvys reviews have been the most helpfull material Ive heard on this BBS.
