I'm not too sure about Pro Tools in particular, but I use Cubase in conjunction with Ableton.
ReWire is great. It links the two together.

Also, I don't see any reason why Ableton can't handle recording and mixing vocals or recording any audio at all for that matter.
I record guitar, drums, and vocals into ableton all the time.

I agree. Ableton wins hands-down IMO for ANY recording work. Check out my latest recording, "Teach Yourself" and see what you think.SoundClick artist: Pentultima - All songs recorded by PENTULTIMA . Copyright Lu Ruello.

thank yous o much guys!!! seriously im very grateful!!!
i just wanna make best decisions and you deff help me.
So far i decided to go with:

jupiter - synth
motu - audio interface
Rode - NTK Tube Condenser Microphone
Native Instruments Machine - sampler
monitors: ?
mac pro
Ableton Suite
Does it sound good?
what did i miss?

Also one of my friends recommended getting Komplete 8 and Logic again.

Ableton was the one I had the best experience with when I was tooling around with DAWs. It has a huge instrument and drum kit library in addition to the usual DAW functions. The Wurlitzer 200A emulator that came with it was the best I'd ever heard.

ableton live? suite or? whats best?

Suite is going to be the best as far as including pretty much everything you could need sound wise, and based on everything you are getting it doesn't sound like you really have any budget issues, so go with suite...

I see you haven't decided on monitors yet, check out the JBL LSR series... they are amazing!!!

thanks for the monitors advice!
and yes thats the thing, the richer the sound is the better. i know that a lot of musicians are doing miracles with ableton. and not the worse ones.

budget is always a problem, but id rather get good equipment from the start, than going all the ways from bs to something decent. which is waste of money as well.

The one I tried was Live. It had way more stuff than I would ever need. I can't say which is best because that's the only one I tried.

thank you.
btw is Ableton working good with synth? can you get a professional product out of it?

not quite sure what you mean, but if you have a good synth, it is going to sound just as good in ableton, plus ableton has some great soft synths included.

and back to synth again..and back to synth again..
i know that there is no sense in getting synth cheaper than 1000$. and i dont wanna waste money on buying synth over and over. i wanna get something that will sound professional, insutruments that sound as real as possible, and good with sampling. know that there is no sense in getting synth cheaper than 1000$. and i dont wanna waste money on buying synth over and over. i wanna get something that will sound professional, insutruments that sound as real as possible, and good with sampling.

I believe you are implying that you are wanting to use your 'synth' for all of your virtual instruments. When using a DAW, you don't really have to worry about this. They come with VST instruments, usually of pretty good quality. The ones that come with Ableton are very nice. I believe you may just be looking for a midi controller, which can save you up to $900. Unless you are hell bent on having an actual synth, in that case, when I add a synth, I'm either getting a Micro Korg or a Mini Moog...

checked microkorg. Xl and R3 are not bad at all. Was impressed by Minimoog. What would you recommend for a decent price (1000+$)?
Want something that sounds good fresh and unique. With sampling options and some instruments.
