Hello everyone!
I’ve been very interested in everything synthesis and sampled since my piano teacher lent me Wendy Carlos’ Switched On Bach back in the late 70’s.
Getting through college and making a living kept it in the dabbling domain where I’d pick up some equipment, mess with it a while, then decide it was more effort and money than I could accomdate at the time. So, I never got beyond the beginner’s stage.
Now retired and free to dabble to my heart’s content.
Current setup: Mac Mini, Logic Pro, Apogee Duet 3, Roland A-88 keyboard.
I decided the pianos in Logic Pro (Concert Grand and Steinway) were insipid so began looking for piano samples. Found Synthology and Vienna Symphonic Library. Now I have my very own Concert D and Bosendorfer Imperial. And didn’t have to add on to the house or go into ruinous debt to have them.
This decade’s iteration of musical technology is truly amazing.
We’ll see what kind of trouble I can get into. Otherwise, I perform mandolin family instruments in a community band.
