Hello My Name Is Dan

[dan78130]

Hello All,

My name is Dan. I’m 65 years old and live in San Antonio TX. In my professional life I was an IT guy, musically I played bass in bar bands around central Texas for about 30 years. After developing some physical issues with my right hand that forced me to retire from playing bass well enough to perform I need a musical outlet, so I decided to pursue recording my original music

I got Logic Pro about 2 years ago and started learning. I’ve learned a lot using YouTube videos and some Facebook groups. One of the things I’m looking for now is feedback from more experienced engineers and recording enthusiasts on mixing and mastering. I’ve been looking for a place I can upload or link to some of my songs snd get feedback On the mixes.

Hi Dan,

What do you want feed back on specifically? If it's Mastering Logic has Mastering Tools included - but you have to know the parts to use them sucessfully - if you are new to it I would recommend using Ozone to master - the programs does an excellent job of a good albiet slightly genric Mastering Job- that you can tweak to make it an excellent mastering job - as for Mixing I use Logic , a lot of automation and tools that Logic has inclued (like automating the Faders) - the best thing is you can do as many passes as you like untill you get the mix you like.

You can upload them direct to this site. Or put em on youtube or put em on places like Bandcamp. All the best!
