I finally got around to listening through speakers ... and though the phones sounded good -- and serve a useful purpose, this was a brutal reminder that it isn't until you get things through those stupid telling boxes that you don't hear things in true perspective.
Funny thing is, once you've got them working well through the various monitor sets, the sound through the phones improves immensely, and you wonder, "Why couldn't I just get it to sound that way using phones?"
Well, T-boomers abound around me here ... so it's time I shut the systems down and pull the plugs until they pass.
btw ... the new version is up on the link above. I fixed quite a few things, and punched it up a bit. Oh, and this was a funny tune. I'm a keyboard player. I played guitar and bass on this ... no keys. The keys, appropriately, were played by the guitarist ... my late great friend, Mr. Mark Crumb. He also did all the lead guitar work. I did only the rhythm parts. This was the last tune we did together before he passed on.
