THANKS ZIKES!

you know, this was such an easy thing to do....

it's been such a nice thing to hear all the replies, that i feel really inspired to try to create some more atmospheric vibes like this....

i just feel so schizophrenic sometimes, to do something really mellow, then do something really aggressive and crude....

but either way, it's fun!

WoW! - Big sound! Cool layers and nice playing!

Sort of like a Pink Floyd record played by session musicians from Chess Records..... Lots of effects, but oh-so cool riffarama!

:) Q.

The only "useful" thing I could add would be to say that this track is the tenth or so track off the clinic to which I have listened. This track seems like it has more sub-100Hz content than anything else.

Take this as you will - either strip some out or congratulate yourself on doing it better than the nine previous tracks ;)

cyanjaguar-
thanks for listening.

LOL
never heard that one before!
i'll take that....... ;)
that 100 hz issue, yes, that's something i've been conciously working on....
it's tricky, because on certain instruments (that you want some rich low energy on) it simply adds mud, and on others it adds meat......
it's mostly on the bass and the kick....
and to get it to work, i have to cut 200 hz by about 4 db, and with a Q of about 4.......
i really think, that the cut has more to do with the clarity, than the slight boost at 80-100 .....

on the other hand, i try to roll off at around 80 hz on just about every track that doesn't have low end need...... guitars, vocals, keys, etc...... but i do actually put a low cutoff at 35 hz.......
thanks for the good ears!
