As far as the op-amp, the 32 was made for over 15 years with some revisions in circuitry. If your unit has 4558 op-amps on the rec/repro PCB you’ll want to replace those with 5532AN op-amps. This mod alone will give you better noise and distortion specs.
Thanks for that. I'll grab a manual from DI (local Teac/Tascam importers) when it turns up.

Also would I need to recalibrate levels after making this change? I haven't been able to track down a datasheet on the 5532AN (and don't even know if its available from local suppliers) but see that RS does the TI version of the NE5532P and its bipolar, so loads etc should be similar.

I'm guessing that changing resistors will change the impedences and gain slightly especially if the originals were 5% - is this likely to be sufficient to mess up the calibration?
