I think the bass is OK - enjoying it  Digging the delay effect on the vocal at 4:40

the levels of everything is wacky. sometimes the guitars sound ok then they're too loud and the drums sound distant. kick toms and cymbals sound like they're in another room while the snare is ok. drummer's hitting the rim a few times i don't know if that's on purpose. the vocals need some compression. they get lost in the mix and other times they're too in your face.

and in my personal musical opinion this song is way too long. (no offense)

Pretty good. Sounds a lot like Incubus at times.
I do like the bass sound.

The clean guitar about 2/3ds of the way through sounded way too loud (The next time they come in, they're still too loud, but it's not as bad), and the vocals could stand to be more consistent volume-wise.

That's pretty much how I hear it. The drummer sounds like he's not even listening to the tune, just stumbling along and over-playing, besides the random snares hits that are twice as loud as the other snare hits. Potentially a good tune, but the mix is all over the place.

Get those drums on tempo with a little editing. Then maybe sample the toms, they sound pretty nasty. The snare sounds ok, maybe a little verb.

Pretty well performed vocals. Maybe try a tiny bit of melodyne on them.

I think the guitars sounds pretty well tracked. Bass sounds good but a tad forward.

Good luck!

Hey guys, thanks for the tips. I actually think I know why the drums sound so wacky. I downloaded the Drumagog demo (it expired now) and sampled my drummers snare. I think thats why it sounds so "all over the place". I tamed the toms and also fixed the clean guitar coming in too loud. Our drummer isn't the greatest drummer in the world, I'll admit that. He has cool fills and I think he has a good vision, but he just simply doesn't practice enough, so we take what we can get. There are a few spots I will need to time align so it sounds proper.

I would do some touchups on the vocals, but the problem is I don't have Melodyne or Autotune :(

Thanks for the comments. I'll post another "remixed" version tomorrow afternoon or tomorrow night. Thanks again everyone.

Parts of this sound quite good, particularly the heavier parts. As others have pointed out the main issue is the drums. Try and get the drummer to establish a groove throughout out the song rather than thrashing around all over the show

I'm in agreement with much of what's been said so far. I'd try some compression to try and tame the levels a bit... Good song too!

Thanks guys ... I might talk to the rest of the guys and see if they understand what you guys mean. He does kind of thrash around when he plays... meh.

We might have go through and retrack this guy.
