Late one nite,
while reading a tome of great import,
I think it was "Ten Everlovin' Blue-eyed Years of Pogo"
or someting of the sort;
My cat sudenly awoke
and became alert
I watched for awhile
for he may have been just startled
by some random piece of dirt
but, he settled down
and soon started to snore
and I relaxed to read some more
But after a bit,
Icaught a smell that wasn't right,
I thought it smell a bit of... cordite
so I reached for my weapon,
which I keep on the right
but, the gun wasn't there
and I saw a hell of a sight
a small man, about 3 foot 2
wearing an expensive suit, dark blue
I started to worry
for he had a big gun
and where he was standing
mine should be, so I had none
Then he said, "Calm down, you're not a bird"
"But you could be", he giggled
and I thought "What a turd."
Then he said "Watch yourself, citizen,"
"Danger's all around!
but, we're trying to keep tabs
on all that's going down.
So read your silly book,I've seen all I need to see"
"Your behavior is questionable,
but, not a danger to me"
"Just be aware and have care or three,
You never know what could be."
He then faded
but I could swear I knew his face,
I either seen him on the News,
or maybe, Myspace...
Whichever, I knew this shouldn't, couldn't have flashed.
My reality had just became trash.
and the only thing I could think of is,,,
That's kinda fucked up.
