yeah but the whole situation is that he wants to buy a les paul but doesnt want another amp, and is wondering what the tone will be

One simple solution is to go to a store that carries both and try it.

I have no experience with this amp, so can't speak directly about it. However the posts on other forums from folks who do own this amp are generally quite positive. The Line 6 web forums likely have lots of folks with both pieces of gear.

Oh, I would like to personally thank the nameless pussy who left me neg rep for my unbiased, unagressive post above about Line 6. Now I will not have to suffer the shit that your tone and playing likely is. tool.

tone.

Go with the tone you like but in my experience most guitars sound the same through a line 6.. I played my Epiphone Goth LP Studio with stock pickups through it and my cousin played his Ibanez RG120 with an Iommi siganture in the bridge and they both sounded almost identicle.. Line 6 is a fairly good deal if you like the sound because you will get that sound with just about everything you plug into it... As far as getting a new guitar and keeping the amp.. if the new guitar plays and feels better and you like it, go for it man.

A les paul will sound pretty much the same through a line 6 as his current guitar does. Why doesn't he want another amp? I think most guitarists would take a crappy guitar through a good amp over a good guitar through a crappy amp.
