Two names I've always wanted to use.

Objectionable:
"The Fuck Puppets" :)

Tasteful:
"Flagrante Delicto"

Although it's taken, I always liked the name "Meat Puppets." Maybe the "Blood Puppet" (singular, hehe!) would be less objectionable.

i've always liked Tommy Tucker and the Flaming Virginias, but i think that might be taken.

I've personally always wanted to use the name"Meat Raffle". You'd get mucho free publicity in the weekend newspapers with the down side being...people will have to figure out which one is the band! Same thing would work for "Bingo!"

Then again, I guess in this day and age, you could always use "Karaoke". ;)

Well, anybody can come up with names:

Que Sirhan Sirhan

Jack Ruby Tuesday

The Lee Harvey Osmonds

Charles Whitman Sampler

The Britney Spearchucker

The Small Faces of Death

or if you're an emo band:

And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Bread...

All the new bands have long sentence names:

sitting on the porch in the moonlight

don't come looking for me tonight

fish sticks and tater tots for dinner

or you could look at engrish.com for some inspiration:

Super Laser Yo Yo

Let's Use Money deliverately

Blah blah blah

And of course, the ones that would work great on a flyer or on the marquee:

"Cancelled"
"No Cover with Canned Food"
"Closed for Remodelling"
"Postponed"
"Live Sex Show"
"Sold Out"

And lately, there's bee a move in the indie world to just name your band after some famous person:

Walter Cronkite
Hugh Heffner
Sally Jesse Rafael

and so on...

I think being offensive is a good strategy, but it may create some issues for you!

My band was called Affirmative Action Figure, but the name ultimately became an issue. Oh, well!

Even better, call yourself "Open Mic Nite"!

Either that or "Job Fair"

"Charity Casino Night"

what about a brand name. I though it would be funny to name your band after a product, use the logo and everything

We are Kellogg's Rice Krispies

We are the 2005 Ford F1 Pickup Truck

We are Scotch Tape

We are United Airlines

Or something everyone could relate to:

We Are The Terrorists

We Are The Islamic Jihad!

Super Hiro Hito

Hmmm, what sort of reaction are you hoping to get, anyway?

:)

How about Dead Silence....because if that's what you hear when you perform you're obviously not doing that well....I'm just kidding, but that name sounded cool. If that doesn't work...you could be called the 'Meat Beaters' and hope it doesn't relate to Circle Jerks.

I came up with some more....How about 'Two Drink Minimum' and 'Jacko's Kids'

Stolen Art
Never Needs Waxing
want to sound yummy??
Marmelade
Sugar Free
No Salt Added

Defiant Child
Hangman's Noose

I kinda like...
The Kerry OK's

Or how about a play on your user name...

Bo Radly (kinda like Bo Diddly)
or the Bo Radly Band
or the Bo Radly Experience

The name doesnt have to be real- or belong to anyone in the band- just look at Alice Cooper.

I LOVE the Affirmitive Action Figures. Thats fuckin great.

kinda reminds me of theat movie "High Fidelity" (haven't seen it? WHAT? ARE YOU A MUSIC LOVER OR WHAT?!)... where Barry (Jack Black) says he and his band haven't decided on a name yet but are considering "Kathleen Turner Overdrive"

i aplologise if this was already said as i didnt read the previous posts...
But i always thought the name " free beer" would attract a crowd! :D
