$1000 also gets you an SCA 8 slot chassis with power supply and wiring harness AND 2 N72's. If you're handy with a soldering gun, also.

Also, if you are pinching pennies, you can look at the A Designs two space race which I have seen go for about $200 the used market, then you can put an A-Designs P-1, or API, or Avedis... and still come in under a grand.

Holy crap...I had no idea that lunchboxes had gotten so cheap. $375 for six spaces including power supply? That's a no-brainer. I'd get that and a 512c. It'll be a little over your budget, but it'll worth it. Definitely better than a single ME-1NV just because it's much more flexible.

I have 8 API 512 pres built into my Line6 UX8 at $500 flat...plus I can have a Neve 1076 that is a cleaner model than that Great River in 8 channels on that same unit...and dont even mention the Avalon model.

Hey Stupidfatandugly I know your in Salt Lake and if you want to meet up and come over I can let you try out my new Auteur from BLA. I love it! Seriousl the best money I have spent in a while. I had a rnp and a grace, I kinda missed the grace for a while then got over it. I'm good with this Auteur, dmp3, M4, M12 and a new order for the SCA rack with a A12 in it will be here in a few.
