Anybody know how to record and overdub tracks with headphones on and listen in both ears instead of just one side ? Recording by the manual, you set the track pan hard right or left and thats where you hear it. It's like listening to a Beatles album with headphones on.
Huh ? Help ?
What would happen if I did'nt pan hard left or right while recording 1 track or overdub at a time ?
What ? Huh ?
Thanks el' mucho !

Bubinski:
are you using stereo 1/4" plugs? if you use mono plugs, you'll hear sound through one side only.
hope this helps.

Yo Bubinski:

Most headphones come with a stereo plug; if you pan a track, [I read those crazy left/right pan directions too] you will get left ear and right ear stuff.

Try recording with the pan set straight up at high noon. When you're done recording, then mess with the pan a bit and see what you get.

Try not to bounce tracks; if you do, you can pan them but "they" all go left or right and you cannot tweak three instruments bounced to one track -- you can tweak the track but it affects every thing on it and that doesn't work too well.

That's why I always recommend 8 track units even for beginners and when I look in the mirror, I always see a beginner who learns one dial at a time.

Give it a whirl,
Green Hornet
