Good idea, Jeff...planning on going there next. Wanted to confirm first that we've got proper power getting to the card as that would globally effect those 4 channels...and we can reasonably assume its not the card as the card swap made no difference. Still, the switching shouldn't effect audio passage...the switch just controls 5V logic that engages/disengages the dbx circuit, but I was going to have him swap the connectors going to those switches if possible to see if the problem follows but I have to research that first...don't recall how the switches connect to the system and I sold my spare control panel so...back to the geek docs.

Gotcha. So that switch is just triggering a relay(?) somewhere else. Knowing the fallibility of relays, I'd almost think that might be the culprit here...should there actually be one employed in that bypass circuit.

Anyway, I don't have the schematics on the 388, so I'll be quiet now. :)

Cheers! :)

confirming that the W62 and W63 experiment reads as you said, -12V.

Jeff, I don't believe the switches even trigger relays but rather logic switching. I need to and will confirm that when I look at the switching circuit, but there aren't any relays on the dbx cards...the circuitry is consistent with other machines contemporary to the 388 with onboard dbx like the 234, 244, 246, etc.

Okay, CAZ...i'll have a look when I can in the next couple days to see what's next.

Just for fun, though, try swapping the dbx cards again.

swapped the dbx cards again for a laugh. what about the bias cards? i've already swapped them, but maybe some funky circuitry is going on in that part of town? i believe they're also portioned out 1-4 and 5-8.

Started a new job. Totally slammed. I'll look when I can but no promises. Other priorities.
