Right to it:
1) I can't tell, specs dont say, if my Mackie SR24-4 operates at
+4 or -10db. Since the upper scale Mackies are +4, should
I assume mine is at -10?
2) I have JBL powered speakers. I have to turn them WAY down
when my master fader is at Unity level. Don't the speaker
volume pods need to be at least at half-level to reproduce
acurately?
3) When mixing from the XLR output of the Mackie, to the
XLR input of my cd recorder, can a regular mic cable XLR
work, or are XLR's wired differently?

1) its +4 at the XLR

2) You are unclear about the model of the speaker. But the answer is NO. you can attenuate without losing accuracy.. especially if we are talking about LSRs or something good for monitoring. If we are talking about EONs or something... then its not accurate to begin with.. so who cares!?

3) once again you neglect the model of the CD player. Your mixer is, without a doubt, pin 2 hot.. and most CD players are the same... but Ive heard of DENON gear being pin 3 hot. Try it and see. Try by playing a cd from your burner into you mixer... check the phase-ing. If its OUT OF PHASE.. then your pins are crossed.. just wire a cross-over cable. If its COOL, then you are cool.
