that's the 'ZOOM' guitar.....

Wow!

Makes me want to quit trying so hard.

Thanks for sharing. This is excellent!

listened to 1st tracks...it's not really my cup-of-tea, but it sounds damn clean for sure - great bass/guitar playing to go along with as well

thanks for listening...
'trying so hard' is a fine line, between just enough, and too much.
i often feel i don't try hard enough, but then, it's just a 'time' thing.
not enough of......

ironklad-
thanks for checking it out, even despite it being no cups of tea....
maybe the 2nd one would be more to your liking?!
either way, thanks for the compliments....

by the way, can anyone hear the difference between the two recordings, sonic-wise?

1st tracks, was recorded at 24 bit, Zoom was recorded at 20 bit.

zoom was mastered in the roland vs880ex with a mastering multi effect, 1st tracks was mastered in sonar using Sonitus multiband and eq.

Dude that is some KICK ASS SHIT.
I listened to the first one. It started out with a kind of Via/Satriani type vibe, then with like a minute left to go, it switches over to a SRV/Hendrix kind of vibe, so smoothly I didn't really notice the transition.

NICE!

P.S. I would buy a CD full of that kind of stuff, in a minute....

thanks for listening man....
just for the record..
i've got two official albums out, one with a bunch of instrumental stuff like this one, and another that's an official label release, that's all songs, but the guitar work is the same...

thanks for the kind words...

the two of these were actually recorded with 2 different roland daws...
zoom, on a vs-800ex (20-bit) and first tracks, on a vs-1880 (24-bit)
the zoom was mastered in the vs, but 1st trax was mastered in sonar.

i went digital out of the VS directly into the pc via a Maudio 24/96 soundcard.
then processed the stereo file in Sonitus (multiband comp and some mild eq, in sonar)

when i record now, i go into the soundcard via the digital outputs of a ART DPS convertor.

the tracking:
zoom:
guitars-carvin dc200K>>boss DS-1 (for solos, without for rhythms)>>mesa boogie mark2b 60w>>1x12 cab with greenback>>sm57
bass-ibanez srx500>>mesa boogie>>57--split to ART Tube Mp and direct to mixer
drums- Zoom 123 drum machine (hence the title)

1st trax-
guitars- custom Strat>>Barber direct drive SS pedal (for solos, without for rhythms)>>mesa boogie mark2b 60w>>1x12 cab with greenback>>ADK Hamburg>>A Designs Audio MP-1 mic pre>>DBX mc-6 compressor>>ART DPS (conversion)>>mixer
bass-Carvin LB70 bass>>sansamp bass di>>DBX mc-6 compressor>>ART DPS (conversion)>>mixer
drums- Acid software, programmed to 16 bit, played from cd into vs via ART DPS.

Jesus Christ man...This stuff sounds awesome. Huge sound and everything's sitting right where it should....Not to mention the top-notch playing....Great stuff.
