damn.... your frkn an alien man... no one plays like that around here.

seriously, frkn whoooaa...great playing and groove.

my brain is still fried...

love it, like the Beatles White Album Helter Skelter with Eddie and Sat tripping, and Jimmy Page keeping the melody groove...

especially like how the main riff pulls it together, like an attack of fhkng bats man...an intense Batman soundtrack, bats and seconds before everyone is gassed to death by some frkn anti-humanity bad guy or something....pffffffttttttt....

yeah.... like an action scene, soundtrack. climax... invasion, choas,

THE MIGHTY TUNACOCK.....damn...

I'll trade you a FURMAN PL8 for the copyrights and ownership?
I'd offer more but I don't have any money. :D

Three thumbs UP!!

Very cool!

Take everything I say with a grain of salt. I'm on new monitors as of friday and haven't had that much seat time yet.

Sounds nice. Some cool guitar tones in there.

The kick is a bit much for me, too much Loooow and not enough click for me.
Perhaps some 4k added and the fader backed down would do it.

The mix gets a over compressed almost clipping sound at times to me. Not all the time, just in places.

I really like the guitar tone of the repeating progression! Very present but still nice and not harsh:)

F.S.

Very cool! I liked it a lot......did get muddy in a few spots but, that could be the craptacular speakers I am using.......nice stuff!!!

Sweet playing Ax! Definitely has an action movie, intense vibe to it. Cool repeating main riff, love the way it keeps building to a crazy guitar climax.

Very nice choice on tones overall too. That one at 1:38 starts out sounding like a voice than turns to some freaky tone, very cool. Overall, on my system the mix sounds just a tad too high end oriented. Sounds great still though

Shouldn't his birth be the first part though??? Or is his birth the third part because he reforms into something even more menacing

Dude, you are my homerecording hero...enough said
Great sound
Great music
Great everything

I love the other two tunacock songs!

I did the recommend to a friend thing and sent it out to all my friends...I really like that tune dude.

Hey man, thanks so much for the kind words...glad ya dug it!!Yeah, I really layered the guitars on this one...what you listened to is a straight mixdown to 2 tracks without any mastering/ eq etc...after resting my ears for a day or 2 from this, I plan on really trying to get a clean mix/tweek the levels and maybe retrack a few parts, as well as adding the "vocals" :p ...this song is the 1st time I used a whammy pedal..I usde it in the middle on the kinda wacky "scratching part...I also tried using my toggle switch on my Firebird at the same time , trying to get that Rage Against The Machine/Buckethead type thing going....pretty fun!!
Thanks for the trade offer and the 3 thumbs up! I think I will hold onto it for now but when it's finished...who knows :D !!

Freudian Slip: Very cool!

Hey F.S., thanks! I will address that kick in the mix, I agree its kinda boomy..I do have some compression on the individual guitar tracks that might be a bit much...I tried for a overall "loud" mix on this , but will adjust. Thanks for your feedback!!

Thanks man, will be de-mudding soon!Glad ya liked it!!

Hey Snake, thanks man!Yeah , I haven't eq'd anything yet so it may be a bit "bright"I noticed as well on my car stereo this morning. That part at 1:38 is a whammy pedal toggle switch maneuver...new thing for me :D
This is actually the 1st part...I am kinda working like George Lucas in Star Wars...starting in the middle and than working back....I do think I am going to do a final part which will be "The Tragic Demise of the Mighty Tunacock"...or something to that effect...I do like the re-forming/mutation type idea also...maybe a sequel down the road?

Thanks a lot for the kind words!!Glad you dug it!!I just love playing my guitar and making up wacky tunes...nothing but fun!

The Link at the top now plays a new mix .I tweeked the levels just a bit and tried to fix the kick so it was not so boomy....also brought up the crunchy rhythm guitars(I think maybe to much).
Thanks for the feedback!!

I like the stereo work in this :D

It sounds quite a bit better to me. Not getting near as much of that funky kick triggered buss compression sound. I think there is some interplay with the guit and the kick that lends it's self to the perception of a compressor on the mains releasing too slow off the kick hits. When the guitar plays the same rythem as the fast kick hits sometimes it sounds like the kick is muffling the mix a bit, but it's pretty much cleaned up now. I only slightly felt it in a couple spots and it did not stand out to me like before.

Sounding cool! Liek the harmonic like sound of the repeating riff.
I still could see a thinner kick, but that's just me and I'm still getting used to these asp8's also. So take care not to listen too closely to me :D

Thanks F.S. this is a really challenging dense mix so I think it is going to take a bit to get it clear and coherent sounding.Still got lotsa work on those drums to do!!

Just wanted to say that the link at the top now plays my 3rd mix...I also completly redid the guitar solo extravaganza :o at the end and raised up the scratching part a bit...let me know how it sounds!

Oh I can see that. Very dense! Distorted guitars are one of my biggest challanges and I never come close to the tracks you have here :D

Very cool, and fun. Mix wise, a little thick in a few areas....not bad, but still has a bit of clutter once in a while in the rythm part. Sort of drums, bass and guitar fighting a bit at times. Song is cool....nice and whacky..... :D

Great playing man....this is fun. :D

Ha really cool. Great guitars, and they didn't descend into wankery even once. One thing I'd like to hear out of this mix, and I'm not sure it's even possible, but if you could maintain the relative volume of the drums as the guitars increase in intensity. At the moment they kind of fade away towards the end. I think generally the snare could come up more. Fun piece though, I'd like to hear this with vocals

GREAT INTRO.
The piece reminds me of LZ's Presence.
The only part that's too fried for my earballs is the scratch panned section.
Also a sense of Kashmir it's the build up.
This marks an amazing growth in your recording & playing over the life of the Tunacock project.
Fanmazing!
How about posting the TC series as 1 long piece so I can download it as one - having trouble finding the other bits to make the sequenec for my MP3 player - this is a must track for the porti shorti.

Thanks Dogman...I have not done any eq'ng yet so I think once I cut some lower mids from the guitars it might help.I might just whack a couple of tracks off altogether...we'll see...thanks for listening!

ido1957: Great playing variaxman - fantabulous.....!

Thanks!! :D

Yeah, I need to fix that part at the end...I envision it being a really driving drum riff at the end and I will be adjusting the level accordingly...I also think the overall drum sound needs a bit of hi-eq added. Thanks for the feedback.

Wow! Presence is one of my fav albums!I love the way Jimmy Page layered guitars on songs like "Achielles Last Stand", "Nobodys Fault But Mine" etc..Definitely a major influence for me.I think I'm gonna redo the scratch part without the auto panning.....I am going to arrange the tunes in order on my click site...the order is:
The Birth Of The Mighty Tunacock
Beneath The Planet Of The Tunacock
Revenge of the Tunacock
Thanks so much for the good word...really appreciate it!

Greg_L :Sounds great. No nits here. Great job.

Thanks bro!!Appreciate it!

The guitar could come up a little.

Just kidding.

What can I say, man. Great playing, lots of variety and technicolor guitar sounds. I have yet to hear a dissapointing tone out of you yet.

Keep it up, Variaxman.
