Look for a Peavey Classic 20
15w all tube tweed amp with a 10 inch speaker. You can usually score them off of ebay for around $100.00. I had one and I sold it. It has chicken head knobs Master, Volume, Bass, Mid and Treble. It was a cool little amp.
I got one of these..Cool amp..reminds me a little of a Ampeg VT
For a 100.00 I'd go for it..Sounds really good thru a 4/12 cab for added depth
Also have the Fender..Good verge of distortion sound!

Fender tube amps

The Fender Princeton has(the earlier Silver face amps have the more desireable blackface circuit)About 12 watts output. You can find them used in the 700.00 range.Nice amp!
The fender Vibrochamp/Bronco/champ amps can be had for about 2 bills and their 6V6 single ended six watts will give you plenty of oomph for an at home practice amp.
The fender Pro jr. has the same circuit as the Blues jr. minus the reverb and 12" speaker
(it has a 10" speaker) You can find those for a few hundred bucks (+ -)as well.Cranked up,It'l be enough volume to pi$$ off the neighbors.

I recently purchased the Roland Cube 30 for $180 and have been very pleased with this amp. This amp has great tone and with 30 watts of power through a 10" speaker it can get very LOUD! ;)

All Tube practice amp around 10 watts:

Fender Champ
Fender Princeton
Fender Princeton Reverb
Kay Model 704 & 706
Gibson Skylark
Gibson BR9
Silvertone Amp in Case Guitar
Dozens of small amps made by Valco
Aloha Lap Steel amps

Just to name a few.....

To get an all tube amp with only 10 watts or so you'll have to go vintage. Besides vintage is better anyway.

fender pro jr...

... i agree with beatle fan. for the money, the pro jr is hard to beat. 15 watts, with el84's (great sounding tube made famous in vox ac30), and you can use it to record and maybe even rehearse with (depending on the volume of your band). this amp is small, but pretty f'kin loud if you need it to be. i have owned many vintage tweed amps, and the pro jr can hang with most of them (especially if you use some good tubes). you can probably get one used for about 200 bucks, or maybe less, and new for just over $300.

I'm also thinking of getting a small tube amp for practice and recording purposes, something like the Blues junior. I was wondering with these types of amps, how often do you usually have to replace a tube, and how does the sound differ after its been on for awhile as opposed to when you just turned it on?

cornford amps

The Cornford amps seem as though they sound really nice. I wish the bandwidth was better in the streaming and in one of the tunes GSC#1 the solo guitar is a shade sharp (sorry, cursed with perfect relative pitch) but I think I need one of these babies!!
Mmmmm mmmmm good {:-)
