1 room studio studio stuff

I have built some sound absorbion panels/units and placed them in one corner of my studio to create a quasi vocal booth area. The panels are 6 inches deep with 12 inches of fiberglass insulation, homosote back panels with a loose rubberized material on back and sides internally.

They have made a big difference in this 11 X 11 paneled room. The room is nowhere as "ringy" as it was and when you get right into the corner, it is quite "dead".

I have a client coming in later this week to do some radio spots and I'm looking forward to hearing her voice.

I don't know how well that room treatment will work on a professional level, but at the very least it looks like you're having fun. The sort of setup you have is what I'm aiming for when I get my basement done. And I'm rapidly learning what you mean about the ravages of middle age. It sucks big time! By the time I get enough of a studio together and have the time to use it, my hearing will only be so-so and my fingers will have stiffened up to the point where I can't play at all.

I've still got my Conn t-bone from jr. high, but my lip's been gone almost as long.

Why are trombone players always so well-tempered? Because we know when to let things slide.

what is that strange white thing with the curly cord that is just to the left of your workstation? Is that some new processor? Some kind of weird reverb unit? It looks familiar but I just cannot place it.
