im not sure if im trimming correctly. and, by trimming i mean with my preamps, not cutting the tracks. im not sure if i should go by dB or if i should go as high as i can without anything clipping. what is common practice?

nevermind. ive just consulted the users manual. i was half right it seems. the wrong part was to say that channels 1 & 2 were line inputs as well. it would appear that the first two are Hi-z whilst the rest are low-z. sorry to waist your time :o

looking at the front of my interface here, it says the first two inputs are "Mic - Instrument" and 3-8 say "Mic - Line." im assuming, from the above specs, that technically they are all "Mic - Line," but the first two can be "instrument" as well...
