They are having a sale on these at the moment -can get them for $800.00 australian - which seems pretty reasonable.
I'm looking for about 16 tracks input and was even considering buying 2 of these to synch up.
What is the overall sound quality like and the perfomrance etc. Any info - good or...
yeah I checked that out just then and its about $2800.00 aussie.
can get a firewire 8 pre motu box for $1200.00 - buy 2 of them and you getting 16 pre amps plus software and stuff. so defintely worth looking at.
cheers
will investigate motu stuff in detail. Do you have some concerns with the...
Ideally i would 16 ins , but 12-14 would be Ok
just wondering what others are using to achieve this result. I currently have 8 ins and want to start recording a whole band into my PC . can anyone suggest a solution for this problem. there seem to be about gazzillion boxes that do about 8 proper...
years ago i used to use logic audio and it was awsome because it allowed me to sync up 2 completely different pci sound cards(hoontech and isis maxi) and see them at the same time in my projects.
I have been a cubasesx user now for a couple of years and have just stuck with an 8 input device...
Hoontech is not gamer its pretty old now-maybe 5-6 years.it has 8 in/outs and is semi-pro I geuss. Now been bought out by ESI. Yeah i have talked to adude from the local music store and he reckon that I pretty much need to get a device with more Ins.
cheers thanks for that
I have been using a Hoontech sound card running into an older version n-track. I usually record my drum kit and then multi track guitars, vocals etc..
I'm keen to expand my availble number of Ins so that i can record live a small band , so have been looking at buying a lexicon omega or...
nothing is worse than the sound of a behringer UB1002. A mate bought one around my place ages ago and I was horrified and pretty much labelled them as unusable. compared to other pre-amps I have, dmp3, alto, yamaha mixer, even a crappy smpro pr8 thing is better than the sound of those behringer...
much the same
I have owned and used both items. I used a couple of dmp3's to record drums for a couple years. these work well. then bought as yamaha mg 12 mixer just to control my monitors. I dunno if its my ears or what, but I can't really notice any difference to my recordings when I use the...
yeh
Yeah I have a DAW setup so recording was the main reason for me taking up the drums. I'm also a longtime guitarist and keyboard player amongst other things.
I definitiely want the drums to sound good in my room . I was able to achieve this to a certain extent with my first kit. getting the...

I have $3000.00 australian (thats maybe US $2000.00) to spend on a kit.
I have been drumming for a couple of years. stiill getting lessons and have well and truly outgrown my first cheapie kit which has been played literally to pieces -best 200 bucks I ever spent though.
At the drum school I...
Its not Dave Grohl on new QOTSA album
I,m not sure of this dudes name but he is awsome??? Definitely not Dave Grohl. He played on the 2nd last QOTSA album not the latest.

found this product floating around. The company that makes these is medeli and is chinese based. Have seen the whole set for sale here in Australia for like $800.00 australian. approx half the price of the cheapest roland set of midi drums. My...
I,m Keen to get some REAL info about this sucker as opposed to company hype. Does anyone here own this thing and can vouch for the quality of recordings and ease of use???
Main reason for asking is that the Hercules is Guillemot (right??)who bought out the Isis maxi card some years back. The...
yeah pretty much as I suspected. I really like the choices you have with software compressors and would not like to have to commit an effetct to "tape".
The "ducking" thing. Again my only experience with that is in the plugin drumagog that that uses this feature to "duck" drum hits from tracks...
This might seem like a dumb question but I,m toally confused about this. I have pretty much done all my recording using DAW with external preamps. Never owned a mixer or had little or no experience with them.
A while back I bought this twin channel compressor that I don,t really know how to...
Anyone know much about these and their suitability for home recording via a microphone (sm57) or 2. Theres a little bit of info on the harmony central reviews and some negative feedback about ADVT15 as a direct box.. Anyone got one ?? Supposed to have a valve and amp modelling etc. haven,t been...
for recording you could just use the drumagog plugin and drop in heavey metal kick sample over the top of your kick?? Drumagog works by replacing realtime hits with samples so I reckon is the easiest way to do what your talking about without having to use extreme eq settings which could stuff up...
Hey this is a winner. tried it all weekend and came up with some pretty good recordngs. Tried the V-amp through a pair of Behringer truths and miked with a single/pair of marshall MXLs , also tried a Rode Nt1 and a good old sm57 as a single and pair. best results , for my taste came from using...
