I,m Keen to get some REAL info about this sucker as opposed to company hype. Does anyone here own this thing and can vouch for the quality of recordings and ease of use???
Main reason for asking is that the Hercules is Guillemot (right??)who bought out the Isis maxi card some years back. The company stopped supporting the card straight after it came out. Basically no support and no updated drivers, plus a heap of problems with the install. I know cause I owned one of those a couple years back. When it was working the card was pretty musical and did allow me to do some cool recordings, and at the time allowed 8 tracks simultanous for a rock bottom. Main gripe was that they never upgraded the driver to support WIN XP.
Basically Guillemot/Hercules as a company SUCK-I may sound harsh but thats the impression I (and many others) are left with after buying and using their product. Would like to think they have lifted their game since then.
16 INS sounds too good to be true for the price. Am I being suckered again??
Any recommendations on this or similar firewire devices appreciated
