I've just purchased a Protools|24 rig with a 16-bit 888 interface. While its not the most current rig it is still a quality product and is compatable with the Protools rig at the university i study at (im studying a degree in composition and production - to be a composer/producer, etc, etc)...
I've just gotten into Synth type music lately, and today after listening to Juno Reactor (Ben watkins) work for the Matrix movies im really keen to invest in a hardware synth. I was really interested in the sounds in "Burly Brawl" by ben watkins, i thought he produced some really convincing...
It no worky wtf happened?
I tried to turn it on, it powered up... for about a second then the little green light faded out and i heard a "pop" in the monitor...
thats all it will do when i try to turn it on?
The Fuse aint blow and its not the power socket... wtf?
I found an Otari MX-7000 1/4 inch 2 track... apparently modified to an 8 track (wtf?) Includes 8 preamps... looks to be in incredible condition for its age, all housed in 2 solid timber cabinets for extreme cheap...
is this any good??

is there any side effects? eg hum etc...
i want one that will step down 240V (australian) to american 110-115V for 1-3 MOTU units

im rather new to recording and i want to ask some questions...
im running a Dell p4 computer with XP and cubase SX, i have a MOTU 2408mkIII on its way...
i want to record guitar, bass, drums and vocals.
heres the plan
for guitar ive got an SM-57 on my marshall....
the bass is gunna be...
in windows XP? i want to place all my music software in a seperate place to the rest... then record my music the a completely different drive
ie.
c: windows & other stuff
d: music programs
2nd harddrive
e: music files
f: CD rom
etc etc... the lettering maybe whatever
