how would I mix/master this riff more effectively?

I don't understand? the 2nd part with the double bass is the same exact pattern at the 1st part. Maybe the distortion is so rough that it's not easy to make out the pattern? It can be any pattern right? besides all the timing, what about the mix? How can I improve that, that's what I really...

how would I mix/master this riff more effectively?

well it's 7/8, meaning 7 ticks off the metronome, and for each tick I strummed the guitar and downpicked, so I'm not sure what you mean by wrong timing. I just followed the 7 beats and started over on the next measure.

how would I mix/master this riff more effectively?

I notice my guitar is off during the double bass part. I'm not too great at timing, do you have any suggestions? When I pan both parts left/right, they don't seem to be in time together. I seriously suck at this lol. adding accents seems kinda hard with distortion, since it all seems to sound...

how would I mix/master this riff more effectively?

How do I move the drums forward in the mix? I never understood how to do that. Also I'm not too familiar with compressing, do you know of any beginning guides or tutorials for metal guitar? I don't know how else I'm going to progress the song yet, but it will most like be really heavy through...

how would I mix/master this riff more effectively?

hmm, I know the guitar is off-time with the drums. The drums are programmed so they are pretty much perfectly timed in the piano roll. the Keyboard I played on a midi controller and the attack is up so that may be why it sounds off-time, but also I didn't correct any mistakes to it and didn't...

how would I mix/master this riff more effectively?

Here is a short riff I made with drums and keyboards. I want to make a song out of this, but first I want to know how I can mix and master this song better so that it will both sound mixed well and sound louder. I use Sonar 6 HSXL, Reason 3, Boss gt-8, ibanez gax70, and my PC w/m-audio firewire...

how can I improve my metal rhythm track?

I have a boss gt-8 and connect that straight through an M-audio firewire solo soundcard, and use Cubase SX 3 to record my tracks. I think my tone is crap to start out with, that's probably why it sounds like garbage. here is different tone I used...

how can I improve my metal rhythm track?

I recorded a rough take of the rhythm part to a metal song I am writing. I noticed it sounded very raw and boxy, as well as bassy. I tried to EQ it, but with my tiny knowledge in EQ'ing and mixing, I seriously suck at making this rhythm stand out. I want my rhythm to sound more punchy and...

    Waves GTR tool - wow!

the tone actually sounds good! I'm sure the guy did some tweaking, I mean I'd be surprised if it's a stock patch he used with it. by the way the drummer is sick! the ending drum fills he did were wicked.

Is Cubase SE worth the purchase?

I see that there is SE and SE3. What's the major difference and is SE good enough to purchase over SE3?

Is Cubase SE worth the purchase?

where can I get SE3? It seems that most stores only carry regular SE. And Cubase's feature chart at Steinberg's website already mentions all the features in SE that is the same as SE3, unless they are referring to SE3...

Is Cubase SE worth the purchase?

I have been looking at the features cubase se has and I think it would be a good buy for $99. I've already used Cubase SX 3 and enjoy the features, but I am concerned about the features of Cubase SE and have questions before I make a purchase. Before I list the questions I just want to give a...

how can I improve my raw recording?

I just recorded a brief riff with drums and a synth pad. I am a beginner at mixing and making all the instruments blend well together so I want to get some tips on making my track sound better with all the included instruments. here is a clip of the track...

how do you record with precise timing

I agree about the live bands of this age, you have to look beyond the radio, there are plenty that play extremely well live. I'll have to stick to practicing I guess, I just get really unmotivated playing the same thing over and over for days until I get it right, what makes you guys keep going...

how do you record with precise timing

I have had trouble recording my guitar tracks with accurate timing. I try to use a click track at 4/4, but I seriously suck at recording overdubs. For example, I will record a fast heavy riff at 120 bpm 4/4, and then when I try to record the 2nd take for the overdub, I am ALWAYS OFF! It's so...
