    Suggestion for Microphones

thanks richard. I've also heard the at3035 is nice on guitar cabs, but i've heard on some of the harmony central reviews it's somewhat "agressive" sounding. The at3035 is the one were going to look closest at. Would anyone care to give me a little info about their experience with it?

    Suggestion for Microphones

My friend and I are heading down to guitar center in a few days to look at some mics. We're looking to start recording some stuff and we need a few mics, pretty much exclusively to record guitar, but things that are good on vocals and other things wouldnt hurt either. The budget isnt really set...

    Condenser Mic Noise

ok, thanks. I get it now. I was under the impression that since condenser could pick up noise from a refrigerator upstairs and stuff that hum 6" would be really loud, since it's alot closer. But on the stereo imaging thing I guitars arent normally stereo miced, but I'm a little unorthodox in...

    Condenser Mic Noise

yea ill be stereo micing it. But, I've heard condensers pick up everything. For Example I've heard people having to turn off refrigerators on a different level because the mic picked them up. Or, maybe I'm wrong. Either way, thanks for the help.

    Condenser Mic Noise

Thanks for the feedback, I really hate using noise reduction programs cause they really do take away alot of "magic". And that's why I started this thread. Anyways, I'm not sure my first question was really answered, or maybe I didnt really state it that well. You see, I want to buy a...

    Condenser Mic Noise

I've heard that condenser mics are known to pick up every bit of noise that's around, whether it be computer fans or amps or whatever. I will mostly be recording guitar amps and the like so I was wondering if I'm going to have to worry about getting my amp to be really quiet as far as noise...

    Nice Guitar Amp Condenser Mic

Thanks, The AT3035 actually looks really nice, I was kinda looking at the SPB1 but it seems like I'd get more out of the At3035 based on your comments and what I've read around the web.

    Nice Guitar Amp Condenser Mic

I'm looking around for a nice guitar amp mic (preferably condenser) that's also somewhat versatile. I have a Twin Reverb that I'll be recording and need something to compliment my sm57. I play alot of clean stuff, very little distortion. I also do alot of atmosphere stuff like swells with lots...

    B1 or B3

Well, I've been looking around and I'm thinking there are better mics than the SP ones. If I may, what do you think would be a very good starter condenser mic for under 200 or so? Like I said, I'll mainly be doing electric guitar and vocals.

    B1 or B3

I'm going to be recording some electric guitar, and vocals mainly. Should I just go ahead an buy the B1 or save and buy the B3. I hear the B3 sounds just like the B1 in card mode so it sounds like the b3 would be more versatile.

Mainly in terms of sound quality, which is better? Or, for the same price, is there a better sounding card out there?

    About to Buy this setup

I just need something to get me going right now, Im really getting sick of my sound card/ computer mic, I think I've more than maxed out its capabilities. Im really not planning to do much with vocals as I cant sing, but I will probably end up getting some more mics in the future. Thanks for...

    Delta 44

I am planning on buying a Delta 44, or something from M-Audio at least. I was wondering if it is possible, on the Delta 44, to run a straight and standard guitar cable (1/4" I think) or mic cable (if mic cables are still 1/4") right into it and record from that. I dont have money for a preamp...
