    I am not familiar with cubase, but it is generally File>Save as > and select the cubase format where all your midi data and wave data will be stored. IF you are using a trial version may be that is disabled.

    If you are using a original software version you can look up in the manual! Like Stealthtech said effects are add on stuff, you either add it through external effects units (Hardware) or internal plugins. You can add them in real time while recording or record it dry and apply effects later...

    I had the same problem with Sonar 2.0 but when I installed Sonar 2,.2 I didn't face it again. May be they will find a cure for this in Sonar 3.2 :D

    Is a Ford better than Chevy? or how about Honda and Toyota? Same here ....... depends on the user. Some liek Sonar and Some liek Protools. They both do the same functions and basically Sonar is the King in PC world and Protools in Mac.

    M audio drivers are pretty solid, so you can expect a trouble free operation if you install it right. Never heard any complaints so far.

    Help with MIDI controller

    First connect the midi cables properly. keyboard midi out to sound card midi in. Then go to. Midi Devices in cakewalk and select the sblive midi input and output. Go to Instruments and map the channels to your soundfont or GM. Then it should work.

    If you have a singer who doesn't grab the mic stand while singing, you dont need a shockmount and if you have panty hose and a shirt hanger you dont need a pop filter :D
