Hi there, i just have a quick question.. I'll use these tabs as an example. http://www.e-chords.com/cifra.asp?idMusica=16076&keyb=true&aba=2 (Down So Long by Jewel) If you scroll down to the bottom you can see all the chords used, however.. I still don't understand the logic behind chords...

AAAH, it just dawned on me... The headphone input doubles as as the Output.. so I just need a cord that will go from that to the line-in on my soundcard and everything should be dandy??

    ultra newbie recording question..

I recently purchased a yamaha DGX-205, I have no troubles getting it to insert midi data into most programs.. but the problem is, I want to record the actual sound from the keyboard, not have to replace it with crappy samples. What are the basics that i'm probably overlooking? I'd like to just...

Emotion in regards to chords & scales

I'm thinking moody as in... slit wrists, force ones head through a concrete wall-type mood evoking... most pop music seems to inundate me with powerchords and i'd like to create something slightly more intensive...

Emotion in regards to chords & scales

wow  thanks for that insight.. I have found of late that people who seem to have less of a music theory background and more of a musician background tend to be the ones who can find the emotional chords easiest.. I think they have the ear for it and can pinpoint it right away.

Emotion in regards to chords & scales

Does anyone have a good source that gives a rough idea of which chords in different keys trigger certain aural emotions? Can certain scales act in the same way, or is this mostly associated with harmonies? thanks :)

    Vocal harmony

    Song structuring

I guess the best bet is writing with someone else, I usually do with a friend but they've moved oversea's so it's more than awkward (1 in a billion person capable of deciphering my crap) I guess ultimately my problem is toning down the stuff i make and simplifying it to a point where it sounds...

    Song structuring

Hey there.. I'm curious if any of you's know of any good online resources or courses on the subject of song structuring. My current problem is that I manage to make a whole heap of crap but can never put it into order as I'm basically clueless on the fundamentals of structuring songs. (how to...

A touch of insanity - be gentle

Thanks for the feedback SEDstar, It does come accross as quite theatrical/moody doesn't it.. I can't stand the repeditiveness in most songs that I hear. I think I know which fuzz you're talking about, the low end bass synth has a bit of a fuzz sound to it naturally, I don't mind it all that...

I'm in the same boat, these are some of the things i've found to make it more bareable. - Singing the same track twice(or more), with slight variations - Going crazy with Cool Edit Pro Delay Effects (Chorus and Flanger) hell, you'll end up sounding like cher but sometimes i think its a slight...
