EQ instruents... cutting out slots for things..

HERE is a link with some good tips regarding making spce in the mix using EQ. It's mostly about the problematic low-mid region, but the tricks learned therein can be applied throughout.

Not exactly an audio question, but where else to go?

minofifa: Thanks, I tried a couple links from your site and they did begin a download. Everyone else: I also detirmined that streaming works fine. It may have been just some bad links. And a coincidence that it was like 4 in a row.

Not exactly an audio question, but where else to go?

I just got DSL(finally!) at home. everything seems to work great, except I cant open links to songs . Like if someone posts a link to their MP3, I always get a little pop up message saying "Internet explorer cannot open xxxx.mp3 could not connect to server" or something like that. It happens...

    How screwed am I?

Here's a snippet from a re-coning site. IT refers to guitar cabs, but is true for amps and speakers in general. Do a google search on underpwered speakers and you'll find a lot. "My guitar amp puts out 100 watts. I have 2 12" 85 watt Celestions and although it doesn't happen a lot, I am still...

    How screwed am I?

push gently and evenly on the cone, right around the dust cap in the center. Make sure to apply presure as equally around the voice coil as possible. Do you feel any "scratchiness"? If so, the voice coil's probably bitten the ol' dust. Also, stick a multimeter on the terminals (with the wires...

    Regarding Groove Clips, I think

Thanks Acidrock, it never occured to me I might be able to automate moves on the Dreamstation DXI. I'll keep that in mind. It also never occurred to me to cut the part at each measure. I was trying to change the whole clip at once. I'll give this a whirl right now. Thanks again!

    Regarding Groove Clips, I think

I've never been one for looping and such. However, I think I'm going to have to learn some new tricks to solve a problem I'm having. See, I have this synth part in an old unfinished project I really like. I recorded the output of Dreamstation on a track in 2.2. I've recently come back to this...

Best Drum DXI or VST program Bar-none

Battery looks pretty sweet. If I didn't already have DR008 I might go for battery. It looks like Battery can do everything DR008 can, and also a little more as far as shaping the sound of your samples right within the sampler. Cool.

Most Important Improvements of v3 Over v2.2

Moskus, you know nobody uses the blasted console view. In answer to the question at hand, I think the single biggest improvement is in the bus architecture. You can set up virtually any routing situation you could ever dream up. It's really great, and I didn't even know I needed it till I had it!

Best Drum DXI or VST program Bar-none

I recently started using DR008 with Drumkit from Hell samples, and I must say, it provides me with about a billion times more flexibility than I ever had before. Having those velocity layered samples is AWESOME!. It allows for realism I couldn't come close to before, tapping away on my old drum...

    audiophile 2496 'problems'

jOs: glad you got it going. I considered suggesting you check that, but figured you might be insulted by it. werewolf: you don't really need to uninstall the old driver first, going through the update driver process in windows will be fine.

    audiophile 2496 'problems'

The driver labeled as delta audiophile 2496 is what you're looking for. There's a new driver up, 5.10.00.36 as of december 26. Download that, then go to control panel> sound devices(or whatever it's called)> audiophile 2496>properties>drivers>update driver> browse for location> then point it...

    DKFH and DR008 revisited

also, here's a question I came up with during my 5 minutes of free time last night. When I switch the MIDI track's output from the midi outs on my 2496 to the DR008, the piano roll changes from having the hits appear as litlle diamonds to little bars. Can I get my little diamonds back while...

    DKFH and DR008 revisited

A while back I posted some questions about using the DR008 with Drumkit From Hell. Well, DKFH showed up at my house yesterday and I'm about to get started fooling around with it. Now, I've never really gotten into using the dr008 too much, since I've used a drum machine almost exclusively up to...

CWAF: How long does it take to run?

I've pretty much always used Per project folders. CWAF does take a few munutes for me, but nowhere near 30 min. That seems a little strange. I suppose if yyour hard drive is fairly full of stuff, it could take the programm quite a while, since it searches ALL files and folders. My HD is only...
