I only have one NT1A for my vocals. I did record the S6 with electronics directly into the Lambda. I do have a SM-57 and a cheap Apex pencil condenser mic that I can use on the acoustic. If I record the song by having the NT1A on vocals and a pencil condenser mic on my acoustic guitar, would...
I understand that to do this better I would benefit from recording the guitar and vocals separately with 2 mics on the guitar. But what I am doing is to record a video of myself playing and singing a song while recording the song at the same time. Then I would overlay the finalized audio from...
I have questions about how to record vocals and acoustic guitar at the same time. I want to be able to make the acoustic guitar sound “better” than what I have now and I don’t know how to properly do this without getting a different interface.
Right now, my setup is Seagull S6 and a Rode NT1-A...
I currently have a Rode NT1A, a SM-57 and a cheap Apex pencil condenser mic. I am just starting to get into recording and I need your help.
I want to be able to have a set up that will allow me to record both acoustic mic'd with the SM-57 and the NT1A on vocals at the same time. I have...
Thanks for the responses Bob and Richard.
I think I understand how I should connect them now. I just have to out and buy a cable.
One of the limitation on the AudioBuddy is that you either have phantom power on for both channels or you don't. That means I cannot use my SM-57 and a condenser...
Thanks I will give it a try with it tonight after I pick up my AudioBuddy. I got to think that someone here must have used Micro BR with a preamp to use your existing microphones you already have instead of buying those tiny mics.
Hi there,
Thanks for the response. But should I be connecting the output of from the AudioBuddy to the BR's LINE IN jack or the GUITAR IN jack? If it is the LINE IN jack, then does it matter because my signal is mono but the jack is stereo? I guess it will be a mono signal to one track then?
I recently bought a used Micro BR and going to pick up a used Audio Buddy tonight.
My newbie question is if the Line In on the Micro BR is a stereo input, and I am plugging my SM-58 into the Audio Buddy but the output of it is mono, how is it going to work? Or do I use a guitar cable and use...
I have recently setup Cubase LE4 on my computer and was able to have to running properly to record audio tracks input from a Tascam US-122L. I now want to add drum tracks to my songs.
I don't play drums and want to create a drum track using pre-recorded loop samples by drag-and-drop into bars...
This is totally newbie question but I've always wondered so I am asking it here.
A lot of pictures of someone recording vocals have the LDC mounted upside down? Is there a particular reason for this? I have always use my NT1A with the plug pointing towards the floor?!
Not sure why they mention an effects processor as a need. Although most studios would have an effects processor to add reverb or something, it is certainly not required to have a recording setup.
For example, if you're using this to record band rehersals then it's all about miking up everyone...
I don't do computer based recording myself but during my search into recording world, a lot of people have said good things about the Yamaha Audiogram 6.
It comes with Cubase AI 4.
Thanks for the insight. I think I understand what you mean. I will go home tonight and try again. I definitely need to turn my headphones volume to past 50% to hear the details so maybe my signal is too weak when recording. I am not using a preamp right now and using just a dynamic mic!
Sorry about the newbie questions......I am still pretty new to recording even though I own a bit of equipment for a while.
For those who are using or used a cheap all-in-one box multi-track records, like a Fostex MR-8 or a Boss BR-600, how do I know that the noise I am hearing is "normal"...
I recently bought a used Fostex MR-8 MKII. I've read a number of user reviews that said that this unit has noise and then some reviews that they have no noise. I guess I got one with noise.
For the price that I paid for it, I am not expecting too much but I just want to make sure that atleast...
Well, in terms of prices, the DMP3 is not that much more than a V3. (Well it is in percentage wise but actual money spent not really.) So maybe the DMP3 is the way to go if I decide that's the route I am going with.
