What is the purpose of the Eurorack's output behaviour?

To the monitors, I'm using the main outs. The outputs from the computer are analog outs on my soundcard. Like I said, it's just plain confusing. The analog meter on the Eurorack has those 4 lights. 20,0,6,clip. Which I've found to mean -20,0,+6, and some value greater than 6 called "clip"...

Where to buy speaker components for home stereos (15" woofers, crossovers, etc)

Any ideas where I can buy individual speaker components for home stereos. Like just one part of a 3 way speaker, or the little crossover boards that split the frequencies up to the different speakers?

What is the purpose of the Eurorack's output behaviour?

Ah, I see. Thanks for the info. One thing, I can't just worry about the one in the computer because I'm using the mixer to connect 3 computer outputs and share one set of powered monitors which I have to match the signal to. I'm also using the aux outs on the mixer to send to a stereo aux in...

What is the purpose of the Eurorack's output behaviour?

What is the purpose of the Eurorack's output behaviour? The output meter shows: clip 6 0 20 This is a normal looking meter with the 20 and the 0 are green lights, the 6 is a yellow light, and the clip is a red light. I thought clip was 0db. This is proving to be really hard to use...

    Burning CDs

Yeah, I did that. I looked at a few commercial songs. The levels weren't that much higher anywhere, but I noticed a slight lack of consistency of the wave pattern the analyzer showed vs. the commercial ones. What I did was note what I saw when I hear the speaker buzz on my song and I saw the...

    Burning CDs

xstatic - I ran a line level from the computer to the aux on the stereo and it distorts. So it seems that your analysis is right. If you get a chance, could you please tell me what I need to look for in the spectum analyzer? A certain shape? A certain pattern? I'd really appreciate a bit...

    Burning CDs

xstatic - Thanks a bunch for your time! I wasn't implying mixing would be ridiculously easy except for this point, just not ridiculously hard. As it is, I know I have a LOT to learn. I must admit, I don't understand the concept of a spike at 200Hz that is below 0dB would cause a...

    Burning CDs

What do you mean by "peaking things out"? Like I said, the levels are fine. I guess my test for this would be to rip a song off a CD that plays fine and then burn it. Then if I get this noise I can elimiminate this theory and if I don't, then you are right. However, if you are right about...

    Burning CDs

I eq and master my songs in Sonar and the levels check out. The songs sound good played from my computer through a nice set of monitor speakers. Then I burn a disc. When I play it in my computer's CDROM, it still sounds good. But when I play it on my stereo, I get these wierd buzzing...

    mp3 encoders

Do the different .mp3 encoders produce different audio quality for the same settings, or are the algorithms the same? I have only used cwenc. I've always used variable bit rate set at extreme quality. Every song I've converted to .mp3 sounds different from the wav. The mix sounds different and...

    Piano 3 pedal system

Is there a 3 pedal system that can connect via MIDI that will have the sustain, half range sustain, and soften functions of piano pedals? I've seen them made to plug into keyboards, but mine only has 1 mono input for a sustain pedal. So I am hoping there is a way to plug in another controller...

    Why the little pops?

You ever get that little pop/snap sound when you stop a track, or cue it during playback? Or sometimes if a clip isn't faded out just right? What is that from? Why isn't there an algorithm to get rid of that? Some people say they don't get that, but I wonder if they just don't hear it or pay...

Still wondering what king of signal will damage a speaker

I'm still wondering what kind of signal will damage a speaker. Supposedly clipping can damage a speaker, but I've yet to find any information saying what kind of damage and what level will cause it. +20db spike? +30? +10db continuous signal? Speaker blows up? Speaker stops producing sound...

    JV-1010 questions......

SoundDiver doesn't seem to work in Windows XP for me. I don't think it will and they stopped supporting it. But it worked good in ME (and should work fine in 98 also). But there is still an OEM patch on Emagic's website that you should look at getting. But, like I said, if you got XP, I...

Roland JV-1010 64, Voice Piano, 2nd G note Buzz - You get it?

Yeah, I'm guessing it is most likely something like this. I thought I'd see if others have it too. The Bright Piano and some of the other pianos don't have this issue, though. Just that 64 voice piano.

    Different mic options for sax.

I was looking for info on recording a sax and found this thread. The Sennheiser MD441 has been mentioned a few times. It's a little more than I wanted to spend. Does anyone know how the MD421-II would compare (about 1/2 the price)?

Roland JV-1010 64, Voice Piano, 2nd G note Buzz - You get it?

Out of curiosity, I was wondering if anyone else can listen to the 64 voice piano on your JV-1010. The 2nd G on a 88 keyboard buzzes. For the most part, all of the other notes sound good, but this one key sorta ruins the piano. Anyone else notice this?

Roland XP-80 .svq files to MIDI or way to dump to MIDI?

Anyone have a lead on how to convert Roland .svq files? How about anyone know of a way to bulk transfer Roland sequencer tracks through the MIDI out on a XP-80?

Where can I get a record cutting machine?

I want real scratches in my cuts and I want to use my riffs. I've used some great tools to rip through .wav files, but it's not quite the same and I haven't found anything low latency that I can play in real time. So, it's time to get the turntable and do it right. But how do I get my riffs...
