Telefucken....what kind of mic pre amp did you use with these tracks? The rode NT1 recording was very good.

    I bought an NT1, HELP!

If this mic is only a couple hundred then I might as well get one and hear what it's all about. I might save myself some money if it really is as good as most of these people claim. I just don't like the fact that it is by some ghetto ass company that I never heard of derived from a company...

    Antares Microphone Modeler

Yeah I have used it and actually have a copy of it right now at home. I don't know man. I can't really tell the difference at all. I know it's doing something cause the wave form changes when I apply the plug in. But that's about it, if it did do something then it was subtile. I haven't...

    I bought an NT1, HELP!

yeah, I kinda know what you are saying. I'm in the same shoes that you are in. I bought the mic last year because I heard someone else's recording and it was nice and sounded close to professional. Then when I used it for myself, it gave a muffle typed sound. I don't think this mic suits me...

LynxONE and(or) Emagic Logic Audio Problems

Do any of you have a LynxONE working with Logic Audio or just Logic Audio? Okay, as far as I know, curently the ASIO drivers for the LynxONE do not work with Logic. So I tried the MME drivers with logic as well and it gave me a "This audio device can not be initialize" error. What I did was...

that thin metalic sound after noise reduction?

tutton(Tony): Yeah your right, with the default I had to do it twice...by setting it to 8192 you do get a better sound but it also puts more empathsis on the metalic sound. Still working on it...

that thin metalic sound after noise reduction?

...also, I was thinking about maybe EQing out the high frequencies on the parts where you can hear the metalic sound.

that thin metalic sound after noise reduction?

Thanks for all your replies... Cakey2: Yeah, it seems to affect high frequency sounds. Shalit: I have steinburg's noise reduction plugin, sound forge's noise and vinyl reduction, and the one in Cool Edit Pro. I'm going to try that though...thanks. Tony: Yeah I'll try that too, actually I...

that thin metalic sound after noise reduction?

Hi, I have some tapes and records that I want to record into my hard drive. After recording with wavelab, there is tape hiss in the music. So I take the wave files and do noise reduction on them. I have tried some plugins and also the cool edit trick that was discussed earlier on this board...

    Connecting DJmixer to Computer Problems!!!!!

Also, some soundcards like the soundblaster live let's you choose your recording mode. ex. mic, AudioCD, Line in, wave, etc. Are you sure that the recording mode on YOUR soundcard is set to "LINE IN"? Cause if it was set to something else like "mic" or whatever, your recordings won't pick up...

more on soundcards than recording software

Shouldn't one be more concerned about the soundcard they are using rather than the recording software for sound quality? It doesn't matter if you use emagic or cubase, the real quality of your recordings are going to be based on your soundcard, or am I wrong?

    sound quality in adapters

Thanks for the reply! No I wasn't planning to use any Hosa cables cause I know how cheep they are, but I was considering adapters. But if I could just replace the XLRs with TRS 1/4" connectors then that'll be great. Wow, I didn't know the cables on lynxONE are the same types used with the...

    sound quality in adapters

I just wanted to know if you think or know for a fact that a 1/4" to a XLR adapter would lower ANY sound quality at ALL during recording? See, because I'm looking at some soundcards and the lynxONE offers ONLY XLR inputs and outputs oppose to the 1/4" or RCA inputs and outputs. Pretty weird...

Moving jumpers to set levels of DAL card?

I'm thinking about getting the digital audio labs "Card Deluxe" sound card and I was reading the review at pcrecording.com. In the review under the "suggestions" they posted this: Suggestions: "I initially thought it odd that the user must use jumpers to set the playback/recording levels at...
