thanks guys, i've pretty much decided on the 414. But what sucks now, is the only two new models are XL II and XLS...and I have no idea what the hell the difference between the both are...and if they'd really be major differences when applied? I know that the XL II is 100 $ more than the XLS...

hey guys, I've been renting a C 414 XLS for a month and I really like it. I recently returned it. I was thinking on going ahead an either buying a 414 B XLS or the KSM 44 (it's a bit cheaper) Although I haven't been able to test out the 44 with my own ears...would it stand up well to the 414...

I tried and now the regular firepod drivers dont work with XP x64. I thought the drivers would be backwards compatible...but they aren't.

Does anyone know if you have to have 64 bit sound card drivers in order to take effect of Sonar 5 with the Firepod? I emailed presonus, and they still haven't replied.

hey guys, does anyone know of any programs that can render human voices through computer? (kind of like simpletext does with macintosh)? You type in what you want said, and the computer says it? Are there any plug ins that accomplish this? thanks dave

Any who can point me in a direction towards which mic I should rent for Vocals and Acoustic guitar stuff? The store rents out AT 4050, TLM 103, AKG C414B-XLS, and U87's. They all seem to get very good reviews. But I just wanted to see any opinions that you guys have. dave

Maybe they'll have a going out of business sale! If I want to power my YSM's , do I need an integrated amplifier? Or could I pass on one and buy a just power amp? My setup is the Firepod ----> broken tehnics stereo receiver ----> YSM's

Hey, What exactly makes a recording sound 'gritty' or 'dirty' its hard to explain. The sounds are all there...mabye concentration of frequencies? Whenever I record my drums it's not as crisp and clean as i want it. Mabye i'm getting too much room and that's making it sound muddy? I have a...

thanks..I figured. I'm gonna go with some sabian AAX studio crashes. They'll probably track better and 'squeeze' easier in compression.

Do these suck? Are they the equivalent of the Sabian B8 series? thanks dave
