64 bit drivers presonus

Does anyone know if you have to have 64 bit sound card drivers in order to take effect of Sonar 5 with the Firepod? I emailed presonus, and they still haven't replied.
 
No you don't. In fact, I believe that 64bit drivers for audio cards would be needed more so for the OS than the DAW application (like windows xp64). I think that if you had 64 bit drivers in Sonar 5, you could take advantage of some optimizations for it, but it will work fine without 64bit drivers.
 
I tried and now the regular firepod drivers dont work with XP x64. I thought the drivers would be backwards compatible...but they aren't.
 
So you ARE using XP64??? If that's the case then yes, I believe you would need 64bit drivers. I don't think that Presonus has written these yet, so you're out of luck there. However, you CAN use Sonar 5 with 32bit windows and it works just fine.
