Do these suck? Are they the equivalent of the Sabian B8 series?

They arent bad, better than B8. If you have some cash though, invest in A customs or sabian HHX

They are the low line, cheap ones if that is what you are asking.

i think they sound like shit. although some drummers like that sound of hitting a peice of metal instead of a real cymbal. real tin like sound or something i hear that i dont like.

thanks..I figured. I'm gonna go with some sabian AAX studio crashes. They'll probably track better and 'squeeze' easier in compression.

Usually I would agree completely but I really really like the sound of the 18" ZXT Total China. All my drummer friends use either A customs, Z customs or K's but one time a friend of mine picked up the ZXT china & it seriously blew me away. I would say that cymbal would be worth possibly checking out if chinas are your thing.

The cheaper, crappier sounding effects cymbals are normally pretty cool. Cheap hi hats and crashes are not.
