    Zoom H2 out of phase

I don't seem to have a way to change to samples rather than seconds. It should be in the view section, but I don't see it....do I need the Non-beta version?

    Zoom H2 out of phase

Yeah I know it's off, I just wanted to post a straight recording. If you look at it in a phase analyzer it's very very wide, not at all like a regular xy pattern recording. I will do as you suggested with Audacity though and see what I can come up with! Or try and do it with Sony Soundforge...

    Zoom H2 out of phase

I'm trying to get a good recording, and have had a bit of help....but it seems that I'm out of phase. It's the default Zoom H2 configuration at 90 degrees in the front of the mic. This is the result here: STE-006.mp3 - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage I don't know how to...

    Ordering Top Spine Labels

I'm looking to purchase some top spine labels....just the labels..I'm not selling enough of my CD to even warrant going through a distributor, but I want them to stand out in my local stores. I've already got the Cd's printed with Barcode, now I just want to get this and I'll be set. Any...

    1st Stereo Recording

I don't think so, I'm going into my Zoom R16 which records to an SD Card. I'm hoping a preamp will do the job well. I just have to find one that doesn't buzz on me. Of course I've only tried a $30 preamp, and the one that was in the Alesis Mixer, about a year ago.

    1st Stereo Recording

I doubt it for that kind of coin. Those look like some great headphones.

    1st Stereo Recording

I understand that's where it comes from, but I didn't hear the hiss on 2 separate headphones, 2 sets of speakers, and my car stereo. So I know it's there, but when i do hear it, it is BARELY perceptable, so I do trust my headphones. The only time I heard it obvious was in my cheapo headphones...

    1st Stereo Recording

Okay, I didn't hear the hiss before because I was using some pretty good headphones, and I couldn't hear it in the car either. I plugged in my crap headphones and could hear the hiss...I guess I perceive it a little different because I don't hear a warble....still working with Mic placement and...

    1st Stereo Recording

I don't have a clue what you are talking about, and your the first person to say something...doesn't mean it's not there though. The only thing I can think of is its the strings hitting the frets.

    1st Stereo Recording

Just got my new Behringer C2 Mics today, and used one of those with my MXL 990 to try doing some stereo mix with my classical. Here is a link to the files. The ones with "StMixRev" have a bit of Reverb, the others do not. There is also a touch more compression to it for loudness...

    New Mic Sample Test

I guess for me I can't tell the difference in quality of mics, because until I get to the 800-1000 range of mics it all sounds the same, it's just a matter for recording technique and mixing/mastering. But as long as it doesn't sound bad them I'm okay LOL. There is a VERY large difference in...

    New Mic Sample Test

I got my MXL 990 today (not the most expensive, but the noise floor is UNBELIEVABLY LOW!! Much better than my Samson C02). I wanted to try it out, so I just threw it on the Mic stand, but it behind the bridge about 12" away and recorded an acoustic guitar and classical guitar. Ran it into my...

    Pre-amp and 60hz hum

I've had the issue with an Alesis Mixer that had phantom power as well, but that was over a year ago. I did take the unit back though. Not going to worry about it right now, will just use the money so that I have an LDC Mic and a SDC mic to try and do some stereo recordings.

    Pre-amp and 60hz hum

Thanks for the tip! It didn't work though....and the zoom doesn't have a ground...I did try using just batteries and that didn't work either. Oh well, I'll just use the money to get a little bit better mic and that might help some. I've been using one small diaphragm condenser, I...

    Pre-amp and 60hz hum

There are only two inputs that have phantom power on the board. I wasn't plugged into them...but I did try Line and XLR, also tried just plugging the out into the amp and got the same thing.
