Thank you! This is exactly it.
I'm used to terms being used for guitar... pretty new to synth terms.
Now to figure out if my Korg DSS-1 allows for lfo modulation...
Idiomlull, arpeggiators need more than one note to be pressed at the same time in order to arpeggiate, no? If a single...
Kinda like a tremolo with the depth all the way up?
With my DSS-1 (and my Poly800) I can do this by putting the joystick all the way down, but different sounds have different effects assigned to it.
I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to adjust the sound so this happens all the time...
Thank you very much for the info. I thought that regardless of the software being used there's usually one way of physically setting up the wiring. I guess it's not as simple as that.
The interface is an m-audi fast track ultra:
I have a new computer running windows 7. I'm still not sure...
if you guys can lend a helping hand, it would greatly be appreciated.
This is what i got... I'm a midi virgin and before I dig into it, I'm trying to figure out how I shoudl connect my instruments together.
I do know that an "in" from the instrument goes in the "out" of the interface 9and...
Thank you very much! I ended up using sendFX and it connected! (didn't work, but it did connect, so now I'll try to figure out why it didn't reprogram correctly)
I have both of these. Reason i purchase the controller was that there's a .sys file that can be loaded onto it that has all the presets to work with the DSS-1.
only thing, I have no idea how to load them onto the controller.
Is there a software you can recommend to get this done?
I'm sorry man, but I'm not feeling it.
I like what's usually considered avant garde/noise, Sonic Youth being one of my favorite bands..
I can also get into really wierd stuff like Glenn Branca. I guess that's what I was expecting clicking on your link.
It sounds more like an art project...
Any input is appreciated. Sound isn't so great, but the sctructure of the song is mostly done.
Thanks for listening

Thank you for the replies.
I've noticed that in this "hobby", the amount of stuff to learn does not stop.. 300 page manual for the synth, same for the drum machine. Interface is a little more simple to learn. Controllers, samplers, etc.
And with all that, I haven't touched the surface...
- Ableton Live
- Cubase
- Cakewalk
- Protools
etc etc etc .
What can you guys suggest I use for a small home studio type setup... Objective is to make some beats using a drum machine (midi), record a couple of synths (midi) some bass (analog), some voices and guitar...
I'm currently setting...
Hi,
So I bought an M-audio ultra interface. My question is... For now I'll be using my computer speakers as an output I have a 2.1 250 watt ligitech speaker setup. From what I read, I need to buy a 1/8 - 1/4 jack adapter, and connect the comp. speakers to an output of the interface, and on...
Actually, I stumbled upon this thing:
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FastTrackUltra.html
Fast Track Ultra - High-speed 8 x 8 USB 2.0 Interface
I can pick it up used for 250. Good thing is that with this, I can extend the capabilities and use it to record the whole band, which...
Sounds good, man.. Thanks for the info... That reaper program looks interesting.
I'll read up on it and see how it goes.
I found the Audio Kontrol on Craigslist for 150 Can. I might pick it up...
Thanks.
I'm pretty sure I'll be using headphones most of the time, so I don't really need quality studio speakers just yet...
I was going to spend quite a few $$ on a soundcard.. Fortunately I came here first.
