    Which Program?

What programs are good for PC audio recording? I have recorded on a Tascam porta7 & a Roland VS-840. I am planning on building a barebones PC dedicated to just recording music tracks. I have been looking at N-track & Cool Edit Pro. N-track seems like it may be better for me to start with...

What do I need (to know)?

I have been looking into Cool Edit Pro and would like to know a little "insider" info from those that know. Do I need a mixing board to record to a PC? I presently know nothing about recording to PC. I have used a Tascam Porta7 and a Roland VS-840 (both portable studios) in the past. I...

    VF-16 - Your thoughts please.

I presently own a Tascam Porta 07 and a Roland VS-840 and was looking for something new and the VF-16 caught my eye. However I also see the VF-08 as a possible way to go. Any thoughts you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

    VS-840 Internal Zip

My Zip Drive in the vs-840 just suffered from the "Click of Death" three days ago. I was told that a replacement drive could only be offered from Roland because of a proprietary connection. I think this may be missinformation from a greedy repair tech. Question: Is it possible to substitute...
