is there a difference in quality as far as recording a guitar/bass straight into a mixer or sound inter face? or mic'ing the guitar/bass amp?

when you hear turntables/scratching in songs is it digital or micd turntables? for example: beastie boys -intergalactic that song has a lot of little scratches in it...just wondering to go digital or analog? thanks -Jack

The walls of this space are all sheet rock with plain old insulation on the inside of that. I want to record(mainly) -vocals -drum kit (4 mics) -guitar -bass musical styles? anywhere from rock to jazz to soul **I would be using a mainly DAW based studio with some odd end controllers now...

Can I use any old control surface when using protools LE running through an m-box 2? or must i use a predetermined "digidesign" interface? i.e -mixers? -midi keyboards? -ETC.

so i want to run pro tools le with mbox can i use a mixer to eaier translate my mixing? will the mixer connect dierectly into the daw mixer? is there a difference between using a mixer with pro tools le and pro tools m-powered?

what is the deal with m powered? can i use it with and firewire? jsut some background on m-powered thanks!

Okay so I want to construct a small recording studio this is the room i am given. I work through DAW so no mixing boards or anything... i want to do some vocals, guitar, bass guitar, drums and mainly DAW not all at the same time, but those are the basics. --- *the pink object cannot move...
