i can get it to playback & whatnot. but not record with sx2 for some reason. thoughts?

i know it may be the bass (fender jazz type bass), thats playing with fairly aggressive rock/metal music. its just way too pingy & not enough of a thump to the mix. i'm doing direct, because i wasn't happy with mixing the cab. should i get a DI box? or are there any eq/vst techniques i'm unaware...

ok. here's the room i built over the weekend. what i have to work with is: 1 - 24x12" 3" foam panels 8 - 4'x6' sound proofing blankets 4 - 24"x12" bass traps i'm not sure which wall to put the foam panels on. the fake or real wall. the bass traps i suppose i'll do one in each of the corners...

despite saving the file, when i close cubase & re-open it, all the effects things i put on tracks dissapear. :(
