Thanks for the feedback!

Definitely agree on the toms and snare.

I limited to knock off 2-3 dB (Waves L2 limiter). I have no idea the best approach. Any advice on limiting?
For the toms being muddy, I wouldn't treat that with a limiter. The first place I'd start is with a very narrow EQ cut - like a quarter-octave. Maybe 4-6dbs. Start at 300hz and see what that does. Maybe start sliding it up, from 300hz up to 450hz or so and see what clears it up the best.

I didn't think the snare problem was as pronounced, but you might want to try something similar with it but not as drastic. But be real careful that you don't take the power out of the snare. It's real easy to do. And you end up with a weak "thwappy" snare. Which sucks.

KRKVXT8 listen: Sounds exactly right tonight. The song hasn't changed, so it must be my ears. But here's something that hasn't changed - I would love to hear what a mastering engineer did with this tune. It's worth it, right? Plus, we know it works on iPad. :ROFLMAO:

Passed the KRKVXT8 AND iPad tests…we’re getting somewhere!

Has anyone here sent something out for mastering? I’d be interested to hear your experience and recommendations.
