Hi. I am hoping someone can help me figure this out. I have a lot of noise (hiss) only on my second channel. I know its not my mics or lines because if I put them into my 3, 4, 5, 6, etc.. I don't get the hiss. Only on channel number 2. I am able to remove the his if I go into the mixer and turn the digital trim all the down to -42db. I don't understand why this channel is doing it. All the other channels digital trim is set to 0db. and the lines and levels are the same. Compressor is off. Any ideas? Thanks much

Check to see if all the sends returns both one and two are not all full on also that the Guitar processor is not been left on in distortion mode and reset any EQ on that track. I have looked in the manual to see how to do a factory reset as that is what I would do next but can not find anything maybe it is not there so unfortunately next step is to phone Tascam I did a google search for "Tascam DP-24 Factory reset" and "Tascam DP-24 hard reboot" but only one of interest came back with a broken link.

There was a factory reset for the 2488 machines. I don't remember the sequence / order of buttons that had to be pushed, but do a search here or on tascamforums.com and you should find it .... if it will even work the same for the DP machines.

I don't know if your problem has been resolved however for a Factory reset Richard Peoples of this forum supplied the answer on an other thread (Thank you Richard) So press Menu Preferences and the last entry is initialize this sets the machine to factory defaults but make sure you do this on a newly created song as it sets pan to center eq flat and efx off. It does not change your system version and it will load the settings from your old songs provided you have saved then if you are worried about that.
