Tempo Changes When Using A Click

WHEREEEEE??:cursing:

That Nirvana song. Grohl recorded drums after guitar and vocal, with no click.
That's just one example that I happen to know offhand.

Your example where he used a click has no relevance after mine.
Saying that it's embarrassingly simple has no relevance.
Saying that you think Greg can't do it has no relevance.
Asking to hear my music has no relevance.

Blanket statement, successfully countered. You were wrong.

Are you working on a track that doesnt use a click track to synch your playing with? Cause you can blow all the smoke you want, it can not be done, perhaps with lots of tech work later on

Bullshit.

It's called fucking rehersal/practice......

We are talking basic 3-4 minute Pop/Rock songs here right, and not a 4-hour epic composition.

But there are hundreds of adjustments to be made in even a greatly managed tempoed song

No there isn't. And even if they were, the adjustments are minimal. On top of all that, even if there are minuscule timing discrepancies, the end listener won't notice, care, or be able to identify who's actually out of time. The lame ass springsteen song you posted was pretty solid throughout. Any drummer could plop drums into it.

Again. Example given.

If your way worked, that doesnt help the drummer who is playing to my track. Just because the click changes, doesnt mean he can say all of a sudden, ok here comes measure 22. now its time for me to play slightly slower than I just was.

It might work for guitar where you can punch in and out, but a drummer is playing from beginning to end, and needs a steady guid

Nope, you're just using a shitty drummer, or he just doesn't want to fuck with your ridiculousness.

If your way worked,

My way? You mean Butch Vig's way? I wasn't there.
It sounds like you've got mixed up.

Go ahead and sidestep the evidence though. That way you can say we're just ganging up on you.

"My way" was an example of a totally different technique, but since you mention it, it also works.
Like I said, unless there's some ridiculous curveball, a drummer can play to a gradually changing click.
The grohl thing proves that it's not even necessary a lot of the time.

Because he doesnt spend alot of time on music?

HAHAHA! I've been dropping into this thread every 17 pages. You're foaming at the mouth, trying to dig yourself out of a whole about every 30 seconds, and I'm the one who doesn't spend time on music. :laughings:

Dude, how can you type with your foot that far down your throat????

You obviously spend NO time on music, or else you'd post some. Unless you're scared to embarrass yourself even further, which seems impossible at this point. :D

OK, now I'm out until at least page 30.

Kind of fun to watch someone self-destruct when it's their own doing. :)

(Miro, I have the forum set to 10 posts per page. Believe me, we're now on page 19)

Sometimes the pay is not worth the idiocy of the guy calling the shots.

How many times can u be wrong in a row? Are you going for the record. They spam me every day, they want my money, thyed love to be able to do it
but its not going to work right

Simple version.

You've said a drummer can't record to pre recorded guitar/vocal etc.
Grohl did it.

You said drummers can't play to a variable click.
They can.
I've played guitars/pianos/basses to a moving click and I don't see that drums would be any different.

I'll give you that the latter isn't evidence, but it's close enough.

Where are your recordings where you made click track tempo changes?

Hahaha. You asked me that earlier and I said I wasn't going to pander to you, proving myself.
You asked - we told.

Take it or leave it.

The point is that YOU can't do something, and if anyone else can you'll just say they are shit.
I guess you wanted a load of people to just pat you on the back and say "don't worry pal, we can't do these things either".
Unlucky.
